We don’t always need a full session to capture great images. Mini sessions can be a perfect solution for Instagram content and similar branding imagery. A restricted timeline means the setting is even more important, and a bright, snowy afternoon was perfect for these shots!
My first visit to Denver was a STUNNER of a trip, and Dan and Megan were the perfect hosts! We had such a blast spending the weekend with them. Their well-planned, multi-stop tour of Denver, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the surrounding area was amazing. Thank goodness they modeled for me in this gorgeous setting! I love the two of them, and I can’t wait to go back to Denver for the company AND the views! (But mostly the company.)
Not only is Iris obviously beautiful, she’s also brilliant (future doctor!!!) and incredibly talented. I loved our leisurely photo walk, and we ended with a fun experimental indoor session after! This was a great reminder to make time for creativity.
Oliver is an incredibly talented musician, and our portrait session together provided the images he needed to build out his website and performance media kit. Here’s hoping I’m able to catch one of his concerts next time I’m in town! If you’re a fan of beautiful music, check him out: https://oxumusic.com/about/
Katie is without question the funniest, prettiest, smartest high school senior I photographed for the Class of 2019.
(Full disclosure, Katie is my youngest sister, and obviously I love her.)
We shot Katie’s senior portrait session in downtown Annapolis, where my family spends time every summer. As soon as we parked, it started to rain–no big deal, in August it often sprinkles a bit and then stops and goes back to sunshine. That is not what happened. It POURED for half an hour. Buckets. The streets were entirely puddles. It’s a miracle we didn’t get splashed by a passing car.
But we waited it out… and no joke, a double rainbow came out directly above the water and was Katie’s first backdrop of the evening. These are not photoshopped, that’s actually what the sky and Katie looked like. Katie is beautiful, and we had so much fun laughing through this entire session! Katie, I’m so proud of you, and I love you so much. You’re going to do great things, and I can’t wait to watch you continue to grow into a smart, confident woman.
Laura is one of my closest friends, and I love how happy she and Eric make each other. They’re adorable, and when they stepped out of their car for our session dressed LIKE THIS I almost swooned. The dress! That blue is perfect on Eric. Lafayette Park did its best impression of a fairytale location for the evening. And of course, her ring is stunning. It was such an honor to photograph these two! So excited for their wedding next spring!!
It’s always a privilege to photograph my family, especially for special occasions, and I love to celebrate my cousins during their senior year. Sam’s senior photos were so much fun in downtown Granville, OH! Even more exciting, we got to include a few shots in front of the restaurant where he works! Congratulations on your graduation, Sam, we’re so proud of you.
PS: I love ending with a quick photo with mom before we call it a day! You can never have too many photos with your kids.
Kristina ROCKED her session! We were able to photograph part of her senior session right in her neighborhood, just around the corner from her house, before moving to downtown Northville. I love when seniors tie in personal elements or locations to their portraits!
Fellow photographers are the BEST subjects! Kara and I traded portrait sessions in Forest Park in the fall, and I could not be more excited about how these turned out. Kara, you’re both beautiful and talented and I can’t wait to do this again!
